Financing Your Commercial Music Education TUITION PAYMENT OPTIONS Students may pay in full and receive a discount or in 1/3 segments during study without the discount. Tuition prices include all necessary materials for study. FINANCIAL AID OPTIONS While US School of Commercial Music programs are competitively priced, tuition funding programs allow students to access a combination of scholarships and discounts as well as a number of loan programs with some of the most respected banks worldwide. DISCOUNTS FOR DIPLOMA PROGRAM STUDENTS Full Tution Payment Discount Students who pay their program tuition in full are entitled to a 10% tuition discount. Armed Forces Active Duty Discount The armed forces active duty discount is available to every student that is currently in active duty with an armed forces in any country. Provide proof of active service and deduct 5%, when paying in full for a USSCM Diploma Program. Post Baccalaureate Student Discount USSCM Diploma Program students who have already earned a Bachelor's Degree at an accredited institution, can submit can an official copy of their transcript to enroll as a post baccalaureate student. Enrolling as a post bacc student will entitle you to an additional 5% tuition discount, when paying in full. Demonstrated Scholarship Discount USSCM students choosing from among the qualifying majors listed below can exercise the option of submitting a commercially produced and available CD or DVD deaturing their performance, songs, or compositions for an additional 5% discount for the Performance portion of their program when paying in full. The qualifying majors for the Scholarship Discount are: Performance and Improvisation Melody, Songwriting and Linear Counterpoint Schillinger System of Musical Composition Arranging/Orchestration Media Scoring Submitted materials cannot be returned. Recording Artist Discount USSCM Diploma Program Students who are actively performing in a signed group, may submit a confidential copy of their valid contract for an additional 5% tuition discount, when paying for their program in full. FELLOWSHIPS Teaching Fellowships Arrangers, band directors and instructors at another institution may apply for a teaching fellowship by filling out the Teaching Fellowship Application. Private piano and guitar instructors may also apply for the Teaching Fellowship.   SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIPS The Larry Berk Scholarship is open to students applying to the Schillinger System of Musical Composition diploma program showing prowess in composition, by submitting a recording of a major work with the accompanying score. This scholarship is for the Schillinger System portion of the program only. Students with music produced by Atlantic Records are eligible for a 50% scholarship for the performance portion of their program. This scholarship is available to students in all majors. The US School Voice of America Scholarship is open to anyone who has been featured on the VOA website or in a VOA article. This scholarship is available to students in all majors.
EDUCATIONAL LOANS Financing your education with a loan becomes a very fair option, when you consider the Full Payment Discounts at the USSCM. The interest costs are sometimes wholly offset just with the 10% full tuition payment discount. A typical financial aid package covers 20% of tuition.
